The Douglas County Sheriff's Office recognizes the need for enhanced civilian participation in the functioning of the Sheriff's Office. The Volunteer Services Division maintains a variety of programs designed to assist the Sheriff's Office while enhancing civilian awareness and participation in goals and activities of the Sheriff's Office.
Standards for Volunteers
No felony convictions
No sex crimes, narcotics or domestic abuse convictions.
No misdemeanor convictions in the past five years.
No more than two traffic violations in past three years
Misdemeanor convictions of juveniles may be considered on an individual basis
The Sheriff's Office has the following volunteer opportunities available:
Records Assistant - Assist records personnel with maintaining records and reports.
Reserve Deputy Sheriff (Not accepting applications at this time)
Search and Rescue
Victim Outreach Volunteer - Assist victims of property crimes.
