Volunteer Program
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office recognizes the need for enhanced civilian participation in the functioning of the Sheriff's Office. The Volunteer Services Division maintains a variety of programs designed to assist the Sheriff's Office while enhancing civilian awareness and participation in goals and activities of the Sheriff's Office.
STANDARDS FOR VOLUNTEERS
- No felony convictions
- No sex crimes, narcotics or domestic abuse convictions.
- No misdemeanor convictions in the past five years.
- No more than two traffic violations in past three years
- Misdemeanor convictions of juveniles may be considered on an individual basis
The Sheriff's Office has the following volunteer
opportunities available:
Community Liaison Volunteer - Assist the Volunteer Coordinator with community relations and Sheriff's Office events.
Records Assistant - Assist records personnel with maintaining records and reports.
Victim Outreach
Volunteer - Assist victims of property crimes.
