Community Liaison VolunteerOverviewThe Community Liaison Volunteer Program involves civilian volunteers who have an interest in law enforcement and would like to assist the Sheriff's Office by providing a variety of outreach services to the community. Volunteers assist with department outreach tables at crime prevention/community policing events and safety fairs. They deliver the Sheriff's Office Community Newsletter to various communities around Douglas County. They interact with the public to enhance the communication between the Sheriff's Office and the communities we serve. Volunteers in this program also assist with child safety seat inspections, child fingerprinting events and home security education for the elderly. Volunteers must be self-motivated, flexible and work well independently. Patience and a desire to help others are beneficial qualities for this position. Volunteers must have an open, non-judgmental attitude towards the public. Willingness to ask questions and seek clarification are beneficial qualities for this position. Minimum Qualifications:
