Volunteer - Neighborhood Watch Assistant

Overview

The Neighborhood Watch Assistant works with the Community Outreach/Volunteer Services Coordinator to help with the administrative duties of the Neighborhood Watch program, including contacting block captains with information. This position requires an ongoing commitment.

Volunteers must be self-motivated, flexible and work well independently. Patience and a desire to help others are beneficial qualities for this position. Volunteers must have an open, non-judgmental attitude towards the public. Willingness to ask questions and seek clarification are beneficial qualities for this position. The ability to communicate well, possess good telephone skills and basic knowledge of computers are essential qualifications. Confidentiality is required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to work effectively with law enforcement.
  • Positive and supportive attitude with people of all backgrounds.
  • Possess good public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Capacity to work well independently with limited supervision.
  • Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and integrity.
  • Willingness and ability to pass a thorough background check.
  • No history of felony or violent misdemeanor arrest.
  • No history of drug use or abuse.
  • Ability to perform assignments.
  • Be a productive member of good standing in the community.
  • Possess a good moral character.
