On May 20, 2012, deputies investigated a burglary that occurred at the Independent Forest Association (IFA) nursery on Wells Road in Elkton. It was reported that the business had been forcibly entered and a computer, computer monitor and a vehicle had been taken. The vehicle stolen was a 2005 Dodge flatbed pickup valued at $20,000.

Additionally, an employee who lives in a house on the property discovered her house had been burglarized as well. The female reported several firearms, a chainsaw, laptop computer and jewelry missing from the home. The loss was estimated to be in excess of $8,000.

On May 21, 2012, at about 1000 hours, deputies responded to a report of a suspicious Dodge pickup parked in the RV parking area at the Sherron Estates Mobile Park in the Green District. The suspicious vehicle was the same one that had been stolen from the IFA nursery.

The investigating deputy learned that a male subject had been seen moving property from the pickup to a white Toyota Camry earlier in the day.

While the deputy was processing the stolen pickup, the white Toyota Camry drove by and was stopped. The male passenger, David Schlenker, was taken into custody and lodged in the county jail on the above listed charges. A search warrant was served on the vehicle and several of the stolen items were recovered.

End of release.
