The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is investigating an arson fire that occurred last Saturday, July 17, 2010, about 8 miles west of Roseburg on Bear Ridge in the Callahans.
The fire was reported about 1600 hours on July 17th and burned less than one acre of logging slash and trees. Fire crews from DFPA battled the blaze which was trailed by 1815 hours and then mopped up the next day.
No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened during the fire. The cause of the fire has been determined to be arson.
DFPA and the Sheriff's Office are offering a reward of $3,000.00 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the fire. If anyone has information, they should contact the Sheriff's Office at 541-440-4471.
