Sheriff John Hanlin is pleased to announce the appointment of Lieutenant Brian Sanders to the position of Undersheriff. The appointment is effective June 1, 2010.
Undersheriff, Jim Burge, is leaving the Sheriff’s Office to take over as the Roseburg Police Chief. Burge has served with the Sheriff’s Office since 2003 and was acting Sheriff for one year following the resignation of Chris Brown in 2008.
Sanders, age 43, has been with the department for 20 years serving as a Patrol Deputy, Street Crimes Unit investigator, Narcotics Team supervisor, Patrol Sergeant and Patrol Lieutenant. Lieutenant Sanders has been in charge of the Patrol Division since 2006.
"Brian is an experienced and trusted member of this agency," said Sheriff Hanlin. "His experience and knowledge make him an excellent choice for the position of Undersheriff."
