Missing Person: GILBERT, James Kelly WMA 18 years old / 6'4" 180 Bro Bro / Roseburg, OR
On May 3, 2010 at about 6:30 A.M. GILBERT and his 11 year old sister went up into the Glide area to drive around and do some hiking. At one point during their drive they were involved in a minor traffic accident where they went off the road and down a drainage ditch. There were no Know injuries. Both got out of the car and decided to go for help. At one point they were arguing and went back to the car. They headed down a second time and continued to argue. The 11 year old kept walking and GILBERT stopped and has not been seen since.
She located a fisherman who had a cell phone and called 911 to report the incident. An OSP Game Officer was in the area and met up with the girl and drove her back to where the vehicle was, but GILBERT was not there.
Deputies arrived at the scene and met up with the trooper and Glide Fire personnel. Deputies and the Trooper searched the immediate area but were not successful in locating GILBERT.
At about 1530 hours Search and Rescue were sent up to the area to look for GILBERT. A tracking dog was also sent to the scene.
Incident still under investigation.
