Subject: Fatal Snowmobile Accident

On January 21st at about 2300 hours, the Sheriff's Office was notified of a snowmobile accident on the South Shore snowmobile trail at Diamond Lake. The Diamond Lake contract deputy was called out to respond to the crash.
Gary Jensen was riding with four other family members when he failed to negotiate a curve and his snowmobile left the groomed trail and struck a tree. Jensen's family members started CPR however Jensen died at the scene. Assistance was also given by employees of the Diamond Lake Lodge and Chemult Ambulance.
Jensen was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Next of kin has been notified.
