On Monday, December 28th, at about 0815 hours, deputies and fire personnel from Fire District 2 responded to a report of a man trapped in some equipment at Douglas County Forest Products.
Holger Fussel had been working at a lumber stacker when he was found by a co-worker underneath the machinery. Fussel had been severely injured by the stacker. Employees immediately began administering first aid and CPR. Fussel was transported to Mercy Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
At this time, it is not known whether Fussel fell or became entangled, causing him to enter the machinery.
Next of kin has been notified.
