Follow Up to Shooting on Azalea Glen Road on evening of 10-01-09.
The Douglas County Major Crimes Team continues to investigate a shooting incident which occurred at a residence on Azalea Glen Road, which has resulted in the death of one person and the serious injury of a second.
The survivor is being treated at an out of county medical facility and currently in an intensive care unit.
This investigation currently includes a roadside interview of vehicular traffic, door to door contacts, and a crime scene investigation, including the use of members of the Oregon State Police Crime Laboratory.
The Major Crimes Team is still looking to locate a white male, described to have a well developed dark-colored beard, which some witnesses have reported to possibly be a fake beard. The male is reported to be of average height, and has a thin build.
The Major Crimes team is also attempting to locate a black, Toyota, four wheel drive pick up truck, single cab, with a black colored canopy, believed to be a 1989 to 1993 model. The vehicle could also be a Toyota 4Runner. The vehicle was reported to have aftermarket mud terrain tires. The vehicle had been seen off the roadway, in the area of the victim’s residence around the time of the shooting.
It is possible that the male with the beard is associated with the black truck.
