On Sunday, September 28th, 2009, at 2031 hours, Douglas County Communications was advised of a helicopter crash that occurred on timberland owned by Plum Creek, in the Camas Valley area. The helicopter was reported to be a contract aircraft, which had been spraying private property. The pilot received minor injuries, and was transported to Mercy Medical Center by private vehicle. There was no fire associated with the crash.

The FAA and OERS were advised regarding the crash. The FAA is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
