Complaints

One of the goals of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office is to provide you, the citizens and visitors of Douglas County, the highest level of professional law enforcement services.

If we have failed to provide you with the service that we expect from our employees, we want to know.  The Sheriff's Office takes complaints from citizens very seriously and we will investigate all complaints.

Complaints can be filed several ways:

  1. You may come into the Sheriff's Office and ask to speak to a supervisor.
  2. You may call the Sheriff's Office at (541) 440-4450.
  3. You may write a letter to the Sheriff's Office detailing your complaint.  Send written complaints to:

Anonymous Complaints

Anonymous complaints will be accepted, however, the Sheriff's Office may be limited in its options in investigating and/or resolving anonymous complaints because of the unique challenges they present.  There is no way to assess the author's accuracy and no ability to obtain additional information from the complainant if the complaint is unclear or confusing.  Anonymous complaints will be investigated to the best of our ability given the anonymous nature of the complaint.
