Officer of the Year
Detective Angie Borigo has been selected as the Sheriff's Office recipient of the Roseburg Optimist Club Officer of the Year award for 2008. Detective Angie Borigo has been employed with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office since 1990. During her tenure, Angie has served as a patrol deputy in the Roseburg, Reedsport and North County Patrol Offices, as well as a school resource officer for the North Douglas School District. In 2002, Angie was promoted to Detective, where she specializes in Child Exploitation and Sexual Assault investigations. Angie is credited with becoming one of a select number of individuals in the United States who have been certified as a forensic interviewer by the American Prosecutors Research Institute. Angie serves as a member of the Douglas County Major Crimes Team. She is also a member of the Douglas County Multidisciplinary Child Abuse Team (MDT), the Douglas County Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) and the Attorney General’s Sexual Assault Task Force. In her personal time, Angie enjoys spending time with her husband Brad, and their three children. Angie stays active in her community as an executive board member of the North Douglas Parks and Recreation Committee and coaching youth sports programs. Angie’s hobbies include running and playing basketball. |
