Officer of the Year
Sergeant Dan Hoy has been selected as the Sheriff's Office recipient of the Roseburg Optimist Club Officer of the Year award for 2007. Sergeant Hoy began his career for the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Division in July of 1976. He then transferred to the patrol division in July 1978. Sergeant Hoy worked in the Street Crimes Unit in the detectives division from July of 1988 to January of 1990, before transferring back to the patrol division. Sergeant Hoy was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in July 1990. Sergeant Hoy acted as the Squad leader for Tactical Response Team, and organizes all police memorials/funerals. Sergeant Hoy worked as the DINT Sergeant from June 2002 through March of 2005, before returning back to the patrol division as a patrol sergeant. Sergeant Hoy has over 31 years of service with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. He is admired and respected by everyone within the department. Sergeant Hoy is always willing to help, or give assistance to anyone that is in need. Sergeant Hoy has the highest level of integrity you will ever find, and maintains his professionalism and honesty at all times. Sergeant Hoy is an outstanding example of what a law enforcement officer should strive to be. The employees of the Sheriff's Office thank Sergeant Hoy for his many years of service and dedication to the citizens of Douglas County. |
